Trayvon Martin Case: Follow Up

The current update on the Trayvon Martin case is that the defendant, George Zimmerman, filed a written plea of NOT GUILTY on April 12.  The full details of the filing is found here.  Zimmerman was placed on bond for $150,000; then, he was later released, and he went back into hiding.   

As the papers were made public on Tuesday, April 24, the Twitter feed #TrayvonMartin was a trending topic.  The mass communication medias discussed early also were reporting on this recent news, where information on the release of Zimmerman was easily accessible, ubiquitously. 

The arraignment for Zimmerman is scheduled for some time in May, which will set the date for the actual trial.  Meanwhile, Zimmerman will remain in hiding after the death threats he has received from the “life altering event.”
